Hi my name is Ashlee Scalese, 

 

        I’m from a small town in Massachusetts, I’m also a student at Savannah College of Art and Design, it’s my senior year. My major is Fibers, through my life fashion has always been a huge part of my life at a young age my Mom introduced me to fashion magazines. Can’t remember which one it was but the only thing I remember was falling in love! When I first came to SCAD, I came for Fashion Marketing  and when talking an intro class for textiles. I became connected to it immediately and switch my major.

 

         Making different patterns by weaving, dyeing, laser cutting designs, knitting  makes me extremely happy. When I have this great idea in my mind.  An If  I can’t get it out of my head right away, I start to collage, sketchingPainting is another great way to get my ideas out instead of drawing my ideas.

 

        The things that inspire me the most are textile artist and companys. For example, the background of the advertisements. Most of them have really cool colors and patterns. I use these inspirations in my illustrations and to come up with a mood for my work.
